With material from as early as the 1940s, Roloff presents an entertaining collection of different takes — fuelled by eco or ego — on what makes for a better tomorrow.
You’ll dive into industrial and educational films with topics ranging from taking care of one's health and the environment to championing oil drilling. All will be projected from 16mm film, so you can enjoy these original vintage shorts in their full glory.

Segment 1; Opening credits. A book entitled 'Modern guide to health' is seen. It is opened at 'Chapter One: Posture and Exercise'. A man is shown slumped at a desk, working. A cartoon version of the man shows him with a headache, backache and general tiredness. He sits up straight and feels better. The body's structure is shown in a cartoon, including the skeleton, muscles and body organs. He leaves work and catches the bus, but it is crowded and he gets no exercise. The narrator suggests he start walking or cycling to work to get exercise; he is seen cycling behind the bus. The next section is about getting fresh air. A city with polluted air is seen. A young woman leaves the city at the weekend for the countryside. She works at a farm and then sunbathes; the narrator suggests lying in the shade and wearing sunglasses.
Segment 2; The next section is about proper clothing. A drawing of an old-fashioned family is seen, and the narrator says that the sleeves and waists are too tight. He says that children's clothes and shoes are particularly important. A cartoon girl is seen. The narrator describes how her socks and shoes should fit. She runs about and the narrator says that she should wear suitable clothes for this. The next section is about sleep. A housewife is trying to sleep but thinks about her chores and becomes anxious. Her daily routine is described; she is very busy but the narrator suggests relaxing for half an hour before bed instead of darning socks. She leaves the window open and takes a hot water bottle to bed. The narrator says to try not to worry. End credits.
