La bûche de Noël (The Christmas Log), Stéphane Aubier & Vincent Patar is the winner of the Cartoon d'Or 2014.
The Cartoon d’Or is the prestigious European prize for short animation films granted by Cartoon , the European Association of Animation Film, partly made possible by the MEDIA Programme. The competing films are nominated by animation festival partners, including the Holland Animation Film Festival.
The Cartoon d’Or has been been awarded in September 2014, during the Cartoon Forum in Toulouse, the forum for the co-production, financing and distribution of European animation for TV and new media. The cash prize the Cartoon d’Or entails of 10,000 Euro (thanks to the support of Creative Europe - MEDIA) must be spent on a new animation project, but this can also be a TV special, series or full-length film. This makes the Cartoon d’Or a stimulus for the European animation industry.
The Cartoon d’Or was launched in 1991 and was secured that year by Nick Park, for Creature Comforts.
