Without animation, no computer games! To introduce the worlds of the gaming industry and animation filmmakers to each other, HAFF, in close cooperation with the Dutch Game Garden, hosts a presentation by Koen Gabriëls and Tim Scheel from Ronimo Games, known from the award-winningAwesomenauts (Steam/PS3/PS4/360/XboxOne) and Swords & Soldiers (Wii/PS3/Steam/mobile). Moderator Jan-Pieter van Sevenster, director Dutch Game Garden.

Koen Gabriëls
Koen Gabriëls graduated as a traditional 2D animator at the MAD Faculty in Genk in 2011 and has been actively involved in the games industry since 2012. Right now at age 26 he's working as a full-time animator for Ronimo Games, where his tasks involve both more technical, tool heavy animation and the traditional drawing of a million frames.

Tim Scheel
With a bachelors degree in Game Design & Development from the HKU, 28 year old Tim Scheel now works full-time as a 2D artist and animator at Ronimo Games. During his time at Ronimo he has animated a wide array of characters, from a gelatinous ice knight to a psychotic little girl, using various tools and software.

Ronimo Games is the Utrecht-based company behind the award-winning games Awesomenauts (Steam/PS3/PS4/360/XboxOne) and Swords & Soldiers (Wii/PS3/Steam/mobile). Ronimo is currently working on expanding Awesomenauts and on our new game Swords & Soldiers II (WiiU) using their in-house developed RoniTech engine. The company was founded by the creators of the original concept for the critically acclaimed free-roaming feel-good game De Blob and is currently 17 people strong.
