3D family adventure film from the makers of Coraline, ParaNorman and The Boxtrolls, set in an imaginative Japan. The clever and good-natured young storyteller Kubo accidentally conjures up a vengeful spirit from his past. To save his family, he has to solve the mystery of his deceased father, the best samurai ever to live. During his perilous quest, Kubo is assisted by Monkey and Beetle. Armed with his shamisen - a magical musical instrument - Kubo has to fight gods and monsters, including the hostile Moon King and the evil twin sisters.
