Animation as a form of magic is a recurring theme in the fellowship of Paul Ward (Arts University College Bournemouth, UK). He is the first CfH-HAFF Festival Fellow, in collaboration with the Department of Media and Culture Studies and the Centre for the Humanities of Utrecht University. Around HAFF there will be various workshops and seminars for students, scientist and enthusiasts and during the festival Paul Ward will also present some film programmes. His current research explores the interfaces between animation and a range of other cultural practices, including videogames and documentary.
