The University College Ghent educates students according to the studio principle, by having them make as many films as possible. Almost every assignment, project or exercise – also in the first year - results in a personally and fully completed film, with higher levels of difficulty being imposed every time.

Flatlife was Belgian screenwriter/director/actor/tv personality Jonas Geirnaert's graduation work and won the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival.
