Arguably one of the greatest animated films of all time, Marcell Jankovics' cutting-edge masterpiece is an adaptation of the ancient legends of the early nomadic Steppe people. The film has a rather special position in the history of animated film, because it can be best described as an abstract version of tales, both in its visual representation and its storytelling.
