One day aliens came to the russian dacha. And they never left.

As a man anxiously awaits a meeting in the local pub, he is forced to explore his own difficult memories and relationships in an evening that will leave him changed forever.

An empty room with five people sitting at a table that seats six. Their withered bodies adorned with lush fabrics and jewelry, they spend eternity playing with their food. A charged silence fills the air. When the fragile equilibrium in the group is broken by the boy’s constant pestering, the results are explosive.

A mousetrap snaps shut, a market place awakens. A group of men heatedly discuss how to kill the animal in the little box.
One after the other, they try to trump each other’s sadistic fantasies, and even a stranger’s suggestion to let the creature loose, turns out to be a sick manipulation. But as the macabre game unfolds and spirals out of control, both victim and tormentor suffer the same fate.

Future Thoughts is an experimental short film showing a collection of ideas about the near
future. Loek Vugs has a great interest for science, technology, architecture and the future.
For his graduation film he decided to combine all of these interests and show them all
together in one short mosaic story.
