Motomichi Nakamura's projection lets us see just how powerful animation can be.

The New York-based Japanese artist Motomichi Nakamura brings us face to face with creatures from fairytales and myths - the theme of Kaboom 2022 - in an endearing, confrontational and at the same playful way. A large-scale projection on the outside of the Utrecht Public Library shows us that animation is powerful, innovative and rejects boundaries; and that it can conquer worlds (apart from those depicted on the screen).  

This event reveals Nakamura's animation made specially for Kaboom Animation Festival 2022 and is open to anyone that wants to come and look at it outside at Neude at 21:30. It also forms the basis for this year's festival trailer, that can be seen in cinema's and online during the rest of the festival.
