Accidents & Disasters 1

The classic cartoon warrants a recognisable and accessible programme section. The thirteenth edition of the HAFF is proverbially suited for a section of short films full of cartoonesque mishaps, fatal twists and slapstick that constitute a classic theme in animation film. Animation obviously remains the pre-eminent medium for this. Interlarded with a few more serious films that have disasters as their starting point. From Tex Avery to contemporary examples.

Not all heroes succeed ... In Paul Driessen's Academy Award nominated short three women in three different ages are in mortal danger and are ready to be saved, but are our heroes actually good at saving? A spoof on fairy tales and rocking a Buster Keaton-esque humour, 3 Misses is an essential Driessen.
