We begeven ons elders.

Tijd om alleen te zijn met je gedachten en onbereikbaar zijn

Searching for Beauty

Searching for Beauty

  • Veronika Obertova / Michaela Čopíková
  • Slovakia, 2016

Does everybody define beauty differently? Or we all share the same idea? Can beauty be ugly? Has its view changed? Maybe every generation needs to redefine beauty; it might be just momentary.
Let’s find what beauty means for us now, in the year 2016, in the places where we live. In Europe and around the world.
In the Searching for Beauty Exhibition, authors Ové Pictures (Michaela Čopíková, Veronika Obertová) applied the principles of moving images and created several interactive installations which include zeotrope, praxinoscope, and dioramas. Finding the beauty lies in setting objects in motion, light, and perspective.

The project is a part of a cultural-social presentation of the first Slovak Presidency to the Council of the European Union under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs and the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic.

To Be Continued...
is a 2D hand-drawn animation about how organised chaos is developed through a series of chain reactions and simple loops. These animated loops create a pattern of stories which are portrayed in two coexisting ecosystems: the City and the Nature. Therefore, "To Be Continued..." has no beginning and no end.
