Winner of the Kaboom Award for Best VR in 2021

Based on a search for balance between the heart and the head, Ascension offers an interesting perspective on VR and animation. How can we achieve this balance? Made by scenographer Paul Boereboom and theatre director Leon Rogissart, this VR is a space that tries to facilitate a safe haven for the inner mantra to resonate.

Searching own space

Paul Boereboom (scenographer) and Leon Rogissart (theatre director) are both graduating students from the Academy for Theater and Dance in Amsterdam. Ascension is a work based on a search for balance between the heart and the head. How can we achieve this state and how do the two interact?

This work is selected for Kaboom Vr because of the way it animated space itself. This work was made not by animators but by a scenographer and a theatre maker who thus perform another interesting perspective on VR and animation.
