Big Themes 1

In the present-day, digitalised world, with its high-speed speedy technological developments in all sorts of areas, communication and art are often boisterous and fast, with the emphasis on spectacle. Anything is allowed and possible, samples of high art, popular culture and everyday life are (re)used. Still, countermovements are equally powerful in their quest for the essence of art. For example, fine art is explicitly striving for commitment, but also for beauty.
HAFF embraces the debate on this issue and present a special programme on the big themes of life and subsequently the big themes of art. After all, art provides us with the necessary differentiation, reflection and consolation. Presenting themes like life (love) and death (loss) - and the seven cardinal sins. Screening films that make a brave attempt to fathom the essence of living or address existential issues. To compensate things, humour remains a key element.
