A committed jury watches the contenders and grants an award for the best professional Dutch film. Besides the jury prizes an award will be chosen by the festival audience for which student films can compete as well. The competition Dutch animation is open for all Dutch animated film productions such as commercials, promotional films, music videos, educational or information films, film or television leaders, television films, episodes from television series, independently produced films, student films, broadcast design and industrial films. The mixture of all genres in competition showcases an varied and interesting showcase of the finest Dutch animation. A Grand Prize will be appointed to the winner of the jury prize for best Dutch professional film. For the competition for Dutch animation 55 films have been selected, 16 of these are student films.
Bears on the Road is a short animated film about Theo, who enjoys nothing more than driving around in his little yellow car. After a car crash, caused by a bear, he wants to get back to his old life, but his growing fear for the outside world stands in his way.
A stop-motion animation of the proces of the production of a winterjacket, backwards from product to source. In a serie of chained, surprising movements, only possible through stop-motion, we get a grasp of how, AND why, XD Apparel produces they jackets. From trash to jacket.

From the wall of a small town bakery, a cuckoo clock recounts a day where bread was sliced one second thick, lovers fell in sync and time rarely flowed at an even rate.

What does a blind person see what i don't see. The animation is a short trip as how a blind person would make it.
A cylinder shaped cup falls and breaks into pieces. Every frame of this recorded movement is then manually translated into a ceramic layer that is made of the original remains of the cup. All the layers are then arranged vertically and glued together, forming a new object that visualizes the destructive moment.
Every year, thousands of women and girls are denied their human rights by El Salvador’s total ban on abortion. The Salvadoran government is ultimately responsible for the resulting deaths of women and girls, and for the thousands whose human rights have been violated by the ban.

A long time ago the bear had a long tail. But since the day the bear met a fox and he lost his long tail. It is a fairy tale about a silly bear and sly fox.
When Tim wants to watch the start of the Tour de France in Utrecht with his girl, he ends up at the wrong side of the barriers and has to find a way to get to her.

Stop-motion film Playground shows a battle between nature and culture, between organic rye grass and artificial turf. American Football is played on rectangular fields, measuring 120 yards (110 meters) long and 160 feet (49 m) wide. These dimensions defined the framework for this film.
De Ruijter collected images of American Football fields from Google Earth, and placed them in sequence. The result is fascinating: various representations suddenly loom up from an abstract series of pictures of field lines with identical measurements. They are symbols of diverse sports clubs that are unmistakably American.

Robbie Cornelissen (1954) is known for his large format drawings in which he allows the viewer to wander through complex architectural spaces. He also explores the boundaries of the medium of drawing. The past year he worked with Kees Went on a new animated film: The Black Room. The work consists of sixty animations based on charcoal drawings on paper, in which the themes of perspective and space, abstraction and figuration and the transition from two- to examine three-dimensional are being examined.
