Almost Square

Almost Square

  • Jeroen ter Welle
  • The Netherlands, 2013

A short film about dancing square forms. The starting point for this film was abstract image. For the sound I found the composition “ Happy Polka “ by Jack Barbour and his rhythm rustlers. Once this was very popular dance music, but considering that the world did forgot to dance to this music it appears the square forms once again started to hit the dance floor.
And, the forms try to be square. Perhaps none of them are really square. But in Dutch the word square does not only mean “ square “, it also means a form with four sides. And as the title already tells us, they are almost square, they try to be square, or they want to be square.
