.::. .::. .::. [DUST] is an experimental animation.
Last year Mariska builded an instrument based on the principle of graphical sound invented in the '20 for the purpose of synthetic sound on film and synthesizers, where moving form and light generates sound.
The soundtrack made for .::. .::. .::. comes from recordings of this instrument. The visuals are based on several visual qualities of the instrument: objective graphical images, the wagon-wheel effect and hypnotizing flickering.

>> The original film was made for a 360° round projection screen [8000x600 pixels] with 6 multichannel soundsystem, that's why it has no ordinary ratio. It's the nicest to watch it BIG, with a triplehead for example.

Big Signal

Noise literally means unwanted sound. When many undesired signals accumulate, the wanted signal is suppressed and overtaken. But what if we tried to understand the signal as a whole rather than only focusing on the wanted signal? Noise is a big source of signals that could have a larger value which we have not yet discovered.
