Focus on Queer Anime: Kase-san and Morning Glories
Can two girls, so different from each other, learn how to make their first love blossom?

Kase-san is a Japanese yuri manga series which was adapted into a five-minute short, followed by this original video animation. A sapphic love story, the film paints the blossoming love between two high school girls. Yamada is a shy girl who loves doing greenery committee work, but one day she falls into conversation with Kase-san, the popular and talented school track star. Suddenly Yamada's whole life changes and she realises she likes Kase-san. But how can Yamada admit her feelings for another girl and could Kase-san ever fall in love with her too?
This film is preceded by an introduction. In this half hour introduction, our anime curator Tess Wiskerke will show and talk about the diversity of LGBTQ+ representation in anime throughout the years.
