Kaboom and Queer Film Festival Utrecht join forces once again to present a rich celebration and exploration of queerness in animation. These are films that wave their rainbow flag proudly! Come and enter the wonderful world of queer animation and witness how queer identity can be represented in the genre. Together, we create a safe space where we can freely enjoy queer films on the big screen, and talk to one another about representation, identity, and equality.

Melk

Melk shows this conflict between the sex and wanting a cozy life.

Three young queer people share their experiences on what it's like to deviate from the straight-, cis- norm and how this makes them feel. Not meeting certain expectations is often complicated, but it also offers many advantages. The Sketch
Arriving in Paris, I start learning two languages, French and drawing. In an artist's studio, I meet Linda Demorrir, a live model. Like me, she is transgender and an immigrant. As I draft her outlines, it is also myself that I learn to draw.
What It Takes
Binh, a 19-year-old, faces questions about his non-binariness. A young, sparkling trans woman, Jeanne, opens the doors of her LGBTI+ association. Binh then discovers the ballroom scene,he falls in fascination in front of Abi, a famous young trans performer. Tarik, a committed trans young man, fights for a leading procession that honours racialized people during the Pride March and finds allies.
