Jury Program: Peter Chung

Born in Seoul (South Korea, 1961) learns new languages and cultures at a young age by moving a lot. Chung studies at the California Institute of the Arts, where he is taught among others by former Disney employees. From 1981 several assignments in the US come his way, for example at Disney and ACME Filmworks, but his most well-known work become she MTV series Aeon Flux. More recent projects are the pilot and opening credits of the children's series Rugrats and the short Matriculated, an episode in the Animatrix series. His films are awarded at, among others, Annecy, SICAF (Seoul), Ottawa, Hiroshima. He also makes commercials for brands liks Levi's, Pepsi, Nike and Honda, but always keeps his own style: dark colours, sharp lines and strong Asian influences.
