A heart-warming family film about an orphan girl who is adopted by a talking gorilla.

In this heart-warming family film by Gordon & Paddy director Linda Hämback, the orphan girl Jonna is adopted by... a talking gorilla! Jonna is stunned when she meets the gorilla. She doesn't want to leave with a primate! But soon they discover that they have quite a lot in common. Everything finally seems to be going smoothly in Jonna's life, until the mayor tries to throw a spanner in the works...

Mijn moeder is een gorilla is based on Frida Nilsson's children novel and is an entirely hand-drawn film about unconditional love and fighting prejudice.
