The programme comprises trailers and fragments from all nooks and crannies of global cinema, their animated origins being the leitmotif. Other than the regular Night of the Bad Taste, The Night of the Animated Bad Taste presents not only trailers and clips from totally botched films, but also from films that can be labelled as bad taste for other reasons. From old-fashioned handiwork to computer animation, from puppetoon to clay figures and anime: all techniques and disciplines pass in review in this three-hour, sense-racking programme. Featuring porn toons from primeval times, caricatures and stereotypes in commercial cartoons, agit & antiprop, animated comics that need reanimation, half-baked rip-offs, artsy fartsy & underground stuff, and gawky animation as added value of cheaply made live action.
