An augmented reality stop-motion experience celebrating the energy and intimacy of a film festival queue.

Evoking the flow of a real film festival, Night Creatures is a series of augmented reality experiences in which the festival audience is introduced to animated cinema-goers who take the form of fruit bats. The project is the third collaboration between Australian animators Isobel Knowles and Van Sowerwine, and is based on real-life interviews. By scanning the QR codes on the cut-out cardboard characters on the festival locations, you get to meet some bats as if they were right there with you in the queue, talking about their viewing experiences.
