70 minutesqueer.red and Kaboom present a programme of queer shorts on sex work.
This year, Kaboom is teaming up with the queer.red festival to present a screening of short films in the project Whorehouse Cinema. Our partners of queer.red organise a sex worker film & arts festival between 31 March and 2 April 2023 in Cinetol in Amsterdam. queer.red is a collective of (former) sex workers, feminists, queer and trans people from all different walks of life and backgrounds. They organise events in The Netherlands on the topic of sex work and aim to destigmatise sex work through more nuanced and diverse representation. Their focus is on perspectives that stay away from the usual, narrow ideas and stereotypes of what it means to be a sex worker. The collective is interested in stories that are intersectional and prioritise those made with, by and for sex worker communities. Thanks to this collaboration, you can enjoy a programme of short films in Cinetol that delicately touch this subject.
After the screening, there will be a Q&A with Dexter Boldewijn, the director of Cupid into Transmutation. Tickets and information are available on the website of queer.red.
This program screened as part of Kaboom Animation Festival 2023
