René Windig presents: Felix the Cat 2

70 minutes

Cartoonist René Windig, together with Eddie de Jong noted for the cartoon Heinz, presents a programme featuring his favourite Felix the Cat films. In the 1980s, he and Eddie de Jong organised lively film nights. With contagious verve, Windig, who started his career in the 1970s with hilarious parodies on famous comic characters and went on to win the Stripschapprijs with Heinz, takes you through Felix the Cat’s early years. He is partial to old films and mainly presents cartoons between 1923 and 1930. Partly even on 16mm. The moving cartoons with the plain humour are effective to this day. Felix uses everything within reach; even his tail is transformed into an umbrella or question mark.
