When no footage exists of a true story, the art of animation can help visualize it. The short documentaries in this program all use animation to help bring a real story to life. Sometimes existing material (like an audio recording) forms the basis for the animation. But what these films have in common is that they all tell real-life stories that otherwise might have remained unseen.

orphans was taken from foster care to an institutional care. The
animated document with the testimony of the man who grew up in
the constitution and the woman who solves the problem from the
outside, shows that despite 30 years of freedom from communism,
Czech Republic still desperately needs a revolution in this area.

The director visualized her abstract feelings by drawing things related to her childhood such as goldfish, flower and the peach tree in her backyard as special metaphors.
