Okay okay, perhaps our story is missing a few beats, but here’s the gist: after more than a century of cinema, it all comes down to this: a showdown between animators from all over the world, dubbed the Kaboom International Short Film Competition. Whoever comes out on top, know that the one true winner is already known: the art of animation.
A whimsical take on life, death, and life cycles, this short follows a group of rabbits in a house. As they multiply, the house overgrows until they all perish. Haunted by their ghosts, new rabbits appear, and the cycle begins again. A rhythmic and charming display of rabbit poetry in motion, this two-minute visual delight by director Sarah Ruyle features a lovely graphic style and, of course, plenty of rabbits!
Ever felt as if you never really woke up after getting out of bed? Then you can definitely relate to the main character in Between Yawns. Still under the influence of sleep, his actions and visions are not what they should be... This great student work by director Alma Rajot will literally make you yawn.
Drizzle in Johnson follows a scientist driven by an obsession to unravel the universe’s mysteries, plunging into a surreal journey filled with grotesque and shocking imagery. Deliberately bizarre and provocative, director Ivan Li pushes the boundaries of conventional storytelling in this 20 minute nightmarish odyssey.

Chinese director Ziyin Wang began creating this visually striking short during her graduation year, a time filled with goodbyes and uncertainty about the future. The story follows a protagonist waiting alone at an ice rink, where a chance encounter with a stranger leads to shared reflections on loneliness, warmth, and the desire for understanding, ultimately bringing them solace in each other's stories.
A breath, a movement, a touch—followed by dissolution. This short film portrays the varied, sensual gestures of everyday life, floating in pastel colors. Beautifully told by Japanese director Yoriko Mizushiri.

In a Buddhist temple, young monks begin their meditation when the master arrives. One of them gets distracted by a sparrow, follows it outside, and embarks on a journey off the beaten path that becomes the adventure of his lifetime. A wholesome, spiritual story by director Arnaud Demuynck.
Overwhelmed by her family life, a woman abandons her husband and children for an afternoon in pursuit of a roe deer. Unfolding through parallel stories that intensify one another, director Delphine Priet-Mahéo bases her animations on folklore drawings that perfectly complement the clever storytelling.
