In 2012, after almost thirty years, the second full-length Dutch animation film ever was released. Based on the 192-episode series Sprookjesboom, revolving around various fairy tales from theme park De Efteling, the film does not present standard fairy tales, but new stories around famous characters, told by the talking Sprookjesboom. Little Red Riding Hood, Wolf, Cinderella, Giant and Tom Thumb accidentally end up in the unknown Winterland. The inhabitants of the fairy-tale forest would like to go back home, but first they have to find five crystals. Witch tries to nips their endeavours in the bud.
