The Art of Loving Vincent

Dorota Kobiela and Hugh Welchman are a writer-director team who have spent the last seven years working on something pretty extraordinary: the world’s first fully painted feature film.
Loving Vincent is a murder mystery that tries to unravel the strange last days before Vincent van Gogh’s death in 1890. Every one of its 65,000 frames is also entirely hand-painted in the Dutch painter’s bold and vibrant style.
Co-director Dorota is a student of both painting and film whose vision was the driving force behind this one-of-a-kind project, so make sure to ask her and Oscar-winning partner Hugh everything you want to know about the film, the story, or the inspiration behind it.
