The Future of VR: on Spectator Roles Evolving and Other Crucial Shifts in VR

Only one thing is certain: Virtual Reality is still evolving, the rules are not set: we create the future of VR! What roles evolved and what could be the future? Moreover we look at other important shifts in VR, to get a better idea of the future of VR. What role do you prefer in VR, what do different roles mean to you as experiencer, what possibilities are interesting?   Where would the VR jury - as  inspiring and influential professionals - prefer the future to move to? What do they see in terms of (re-)inventing narratives, audience' roles, animation techniques and styles, new visual materialities etc? And (how) can it be expressive with all technology involved?

This years jury consists of Paulien Dresscher (Curator Immersive Media  for NFF: the Netherlands Film Festival, our most prestigious national film festival) + Bogomir Doringer Director of Nxt Museum + Award winning VR maker Ricardo Laganaro.

Moderator: Philosopher and Artist Victorine van Alphen
