We are excited to announce the first edition of the Animation Lab Netherlands, in collaboration with CEE Animation Workshop, Film Forward, Nederlandse Audiovisuele Producenten Alliantie – NAPA and Netherlands Film Fund – FilmFunds, an intense 3-day tailor-made lab will take place on April 11th-13th.
Documentary and fiction producers from the Netherlands will gain knowledge and insights in the specifics of producing animation, aiming for them to get an in-depth insight into the animation industry as well as taking away any thresholds for using animation in their live-action and documentary productions. The residential workshop is formatted to discover the animation industry specifics through masterclasses by leading international experts, moderated and interactive group work sessions and individual consultations on topics like the development of animated projects, production and post-production, festival strategy and distribution. Participants are invited to join Kaboom Animation Festival as a guest, to start up their animation network alongside participating in the lab sessions.
Tutors:
Animation Lab Netherlands will be led by experienced producers Martin Vandas (MAUR Film, Czech Republic) and Jelena Popović (National Film Board of Canada).
Participation:
The Animation Lab Netherlands is open for Dutch film producers, who have experience in fiction or documentary filmmaking, or have started their first productions in animation. The participants should have been responsible as main producers for at least two projects in their current field and are developing their animated project or have ambition to develop or enter in production of an animated project. The participation fee of 300 € includes a festival accreditation to our festival. Travel and accommodation costs should be covered by the participants.
