Dutch researcher Joost Rekveld’s has dedicated his life and work to uncover what humans can learn from dialogues with machines – machines that mankind has constructed. His experimental film #59 explores the interaction between sound, image, and narrative, delving into the origins of chaos and the influence of computing technology on society.

In Memoriam: Evert de Beijer
Dutch animator Evert de Beijer, known for his innovative and influential work, passed away in January, 2024. His diverse film legacy spans decades, blending analogue and digital techniques to create distinct visual styles. To honor his creative spirit, 5 shorts out of his career will be screened in this special program, from his graduating film Gerard (1979) to his most recent film Lucy (2015).
